Geoffrey taught at Prince of Wales School from 1946-55. He was housemaster of Rhodes 1953-55 with Mr Barnet as deputy. His nick-name at POWS was Dudu.
He was a prisoner of the Imperial Japanese Army in WW2 and POW was his first job after recovering from that experience.

He worked in the Kenya Education Dept after POW.

He was posted to Nakuru in 1958. His children, Peter, David and Janice went to Lugard School, Nakuru. Janice attended Nakuru secondary for a year before moving on to Kenya Girls' High. He acted as musical director for pantomimes put on in Nakuru in the early sixties. 

He was posted back to Nairobi in 1964 and stayed on for two years after independence to help train new education staff. After returning to UK he had a second career in University administration.

He died in 1996 after suffering from Parkinson's in his retirement.
